LIFT families testimonies
Petitgrand Family
Hello, could you introduce your family?
We came to Taiwan thanks to the job of my husband Fabien, who is working in the field of communications and smart metering. Initially, we planned to stay 2 years, and here we are: 12 years and counting, with now 3 kids ! Our children all went to Taiwanese kindergartens before joining the French curriculum. Currently, Laetitia is in CM2, Theodor in CE2 and the last one, Timothé, will join LIFT next school year.
Why did you join LIFT?
A quality curriculum, respectful of the French national educational system, and taught in three languages. Tuition fees are justified.
What is for you and your children the most important in a school?
The fulfillment and well-being of the children without compromising academic excellence.
LIFT put at the heart of its governance pupils’ parents. How are you involved in the school?
Pupils’ parents have a crucial role at LIFT, we feel listened to and understood. LIFT is a big family of parents and teachers, there is a very good atmosphere and understanding. Currently, I mainly help to manage financially and administratively the parents’ association.
What is the best memory of your child at LIFT?
There are many. Friendships with their comrades at LIFT. I can feel the joy of my children going to school every morning.

Hello, could you introduce your family?
Mathieu and I have been living in Taiwan for nearly 10 years. I came from Hong Kong, working in an American bank now. Mathieu is training himself in IT and software engineering currently. Clementine was born and raised in Taiwan.
Why did you join LIFT?
We have several reasons to choose LIFT for clementine’s primary school. 1) To learn multi-languages, especially French 2) to learn the diversified culture in the school. Clementine was born in Taiwan with Mandarin as her native language. We wish her to learn French and English as well. Especially French, this is also another way to have her understand her own identity in the world. Pupils are from different backgrounds and most of them can speak in Mandarin, Clementine can learn the different cultures in the school. Also Lift offers a variety of Extra-curricular activities, e.g., Ukulele, football, Theater, Discover Taiwanese culture, etc. Clementine loves school life very much.
What is for you and your children the most important in a school?
The most important thing for us is that Clementine enjoys school life. She can learn knowledge and grow with her friends in a nice school.
LIFT put at the heart of its governance pupils’ parents. How are you involved in the school?
Clementine loves to go to school everyday. She prepares the school bag by herself, she reminds us to bring her snacks and all necessities required for the school. After going to Lift, her French has improved a lot, especially in reading and speaking. She loves to share with us her favorite activities with her friends during the breaks. She also shared with us that she doesn’t like to play football during the rainy days. Teachers in Lift listened to us so they brought the kids to a shield covered place to play football on rainy days.
What is the best memory of your child at LIFT?
Clementine loves to play “ Loup-Glacé” with all her friends including pupils from greater grades during the break time.

Hello Charlotte, could you introduce your family?
We’ve been in Taiwan for 7 years, my husband and I are both working professionals in multinational companies. We have 3 kids aged 9, 7 and 4 and all of them are going to local schools till now.
Why did you join LIFT?
We start to notice that with kids making good progress in Chinese, their French is not catching up to the level it should be. English, although as a third language, is still an important one in my point of view. Another reason is that our eldest kid doesn’t enjoy her school life and is being pushed to do lots of exercises all the time. This is what makes us feel that LIFT that provides French/Chinese and English programs is a rare good choice for us.
What is for you and your children the most important in a school?
For us, it is really important for us that kids can be motivated in learning. Because that is what we believe a lifelong learning can be possible. Kids find happiness and satisfaction instead of stress in learning new things and discovering their own interests is such a precious gift we can ever give to them.
LIFT put at the heart of its governance pupils’ parents. How are you involved in the school?
This is also what makes us feel unique in this school, parents feel respected with a high level of participation in school life and affairs. Parents’ voices can be heard and the interactions between parents and the parent’s association is very active. We provide assistance in a way we can and that gives a strong bonding in this family.
What is the best memory of your child at LIFT?
Our daughter is wearing a big smile going to school every day and can’t stop sharing everything at school at home. She makes a lot of good friends and we see her French making enormous progress in a very short time. Every day is a new happy day, and we can really dream of all types of possibilities in the future. Everyday counts as a good souvenir.

Could you introduce your family?
We are a French family with two French parents Amandine and Nicolas, with 2 kids – Nathan 10 years old and Charlotte 7 years old. Both of our kids were born in Paris – We moved to Taiwan , 4 years ago for my work in the semiconductor industry. We were supposed to stay 2/3 years and finally we are not sure when we will be leaving this great country.
Why did you join LIFT?
Our kids went to the French section of the European school for the first 3 years of their academic years in Taiwan. We knew a new project was in construction and the new school better fits our definition of what education should be. We knew parents and the team behind the project and we were convinced about the pedagogic team and their vision of education. Education is really teachers/pupils interaction with very limited usage of electronic devices or pedagogical digital content.
What is for you and your children the most important in a school?
First question to my kids : are you happy ? It was my first question everyday after the move, before moving kids is never an easy decision, So i would say environment, and friends are critical. For me having very careful people and a great pedagogical team is the most important. Plus LIFT is a small school and kids don’t have the feeling of being in an “education factory school”. I am pretty sure, they are growing up in the perfect environment
LIFT put at the heart of its governance pupils’ parents. How are you involved in the school?
As 30% of the family, I am a member of the UPLIFT association, which is the association of parents. We discussed many various topics , from our school identity to organizing school events , like beach cleaning to raise our kids’ consciousness of the environmental challenge they will be facing. For me, getting involved in the school means not being just a “customer” but being fully part of what we want for our kids and their future. We all take with a huge satisfaction on our extra time to make this school the greatest education environment for our kids
What is the best memory of your child at LIFT?
What a tough question, they had so many, from the first day they discover the school, everyday when they enjoy the delicious food of Michel Bru, also everyday when they meet siblings in the break, All the ECA, with Jujitsu, football wit coach François, Sciences… and all the exhibition in Taipei ! To summarize, the best memories of my kids will be those years in that school. I often repeat to them : never forget the chance you have to go to this school with a great education system and an amazing team!
Yang Family
Could you introduce your family?
Bonjour! We are Sandy and Will, and we are a family of four, Madison 10 years old in CM2 and Hudson 8 years old in CE2. Both Madison and Hudson’s names are from the city of New York because it is where we met and dated. Both of us are Taiwanese, and grew up in different cities including Singapore, Toronto, Dominican Republic, Boston, New York and Shanghai. Sandy is an early childhood music educator, and also runs a health business with Will.
Why did you join LIFT?
We are looking for a school where children are the center of the learning, and we found that LIFT carries the same vision. LIFT teachers are experienced, knowledgeable, professional and caring with a big heart. Trilingual learning also brings us great interest, and last but not least, the fee is reasonable.
What is for you and your children the most important in a school?
Motivation! It takes a village to raise one child, not even mention a group of children. A school that gives the opportunity for children to make mistakes, to learn from mistakes and to be a better person.
LIFT put at the heart of its governance pupils’ parents. How are you involved in the school?
It is an honor to be able to discuss the matters in school, therefore we try to participate in the school events and activities as much as we can. At home we also encourage our kids to open the conversation on any topics they like or dislike from school.
What is the best memory of your child at LIFT?
Thank you LIFT for giving them the best morning call (motivation) to school everyday. Multicultural learning makes the best fun out of the books, they enjoy the extracurricular activities very much.
