Can Artificial Intelligence Serve Education?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is at the forefront of innovation discussions across various fields, including education. But can it truly become a tool to enhance learning ?

One of AI’s greatest strengths is its ability to personalize education. Adaptive learning platforms, for instance, allow students to progress at their own pace, offering exercises tailored to their needs and providing immediate feedback. AI also supports teachers by delivering detailed analyses of students’ performance, enabling swift identification of challenges and adaptation of teaching strategies.

Moreover, AI expands access to educational resources. Tools like translators and interactive content generators make learning more accessible, even for students with specific needs. For example, voice assistance technology can aid dyslexic students or those learning a foreign language.

However, integrating AI into education raises ethical and technical concerns. How can we ensure student data privacy ? Can AI replace human interaction in learning, or should it only complement it? The answer seems evident: the relationship between students and teachers remains vital, and AI should be seen as a tool supporting this dynamic.

At the French International School of Taipei, considering AI integration means exploring opportunities to unite technology and pedagogy to enrich the educational experience while preserving the essential human element in knowledge transmission.

As an educational community, how can we leverage AI to guide our students toward greater autonomy and excellence while staying true to our values ? This is a question worth pondering together.
