Anti-Bullying Day

On Anti-Bullying Day, observed on November 7, we reaffirm our commitment to this crucial issue and highlight the principles guiding our approach to addressing bullying.

We employ the “Shared Concern” method, a recognized approach that focuses on listening and involving all parties constructively. Rather than immediate punitive measures, this method encourages empathy and gradual self-awareness, helping all students involved — perpetrators, bystanders, and victims — to become aware of their roles.

Through individual meetings, a responsible adult (teacher, counselor, or staff member) speaks first with the bullies, not with accusations but with a “concern” for the victim’s well-being. This encourages empathy, leading students to willingly change their behavior. The victim is also listened to, to understand their feelings and needs.

By involving each student, this method fosters both collective and individual awareness, making everyone a participant in the change process. Follow-ups ensure that positive progress continues.

At LIFT, we strive to foster a supportive community where all students feel heard, respected, and supported.
