Rationale

At LIFT, we are committed to building a school that reflects the following core principles:

An accessible school
LIFT is designed to be financially accessible to the broadest possible range of French and Francophone families. Our tuition policy is based on affordability without ever compromising the quality of education or the care provided to our students.

Inclusive and participatory governance
LIFT is governed in consultation with its educational community—first and foremost with parents. The school is overseen by a board composed of parent representatives and members of the local Francophone cultural and business communities. This board ensures that the school remains aligned with its educational vision and values over the long term. Day-to-day operations are managed by independent, professional administrators who work closely with the educational and administrative teams.

A long-term educational solution for the Francophone community in Taiwan
Our aim is to meet the growing needs of the Francophone community in Taiwan by providing a sustainable and high-quality educational offering.

A non-profit school
LIFT is funded by the French business community in Taiwan and by Taiwanese philanthropists who are friends of French language and culture. Relying on corporate and individual sponsorship rather than private investors allows us to maintain accessible tuition fees, ensure financial independence, reinvest revenue into the school’s development, and uphold a governance model that serves the communities we educate.

A trilingual, multicultural school
LIFT offers a truly international education. In addition to full proficiency in French, our students develop strong skills in English or Chinese, with a strong emphasis on celebrating and understanding Taiwanese culture. The school welcomes all Francophones, including Taiwanese nationals.

AEFE accreditation and academic excellence
LIFT is accredited by the AEFE and prepares students for the Diplôme National du Brevet and the French Baccalauréat, ensuring access to top universities worldwide.

A shared ambition for a new generation
With LIFT, the French community in Taipei is nurturing a new generation of students—French, Taiwanese, and binational—rooted in the values of the French Republic, enriched by its pedagogical approach, and equipped with a global outlook and a deep understanding of the Chinese-speaking world. These young citizens will be ready to engage with the key societal challenges facing our region.

A recognized initiative
LIFT enjoys strong political and diplomatic support. It is part of France’s 2018 global strategy to double enrollment in French international schools and promote the French language and multilingualism. It also aligns with Taiwan’s goal of becoming a bilingual nation by 2030. The school receives full support from the French diplomatic mission in Taipei, the Taipei City Government, and local education authorities.

A French school for all Francophone communities in Taipei
LIFT is an autonomous initiative led by Francophone parents and members of the French business community in Taipei. It is not affiliated with the Taipei European School.
